Report of Intra College Moot Court Competition-2023 – Law College Of IMIRC

IMIRC College of Law organized the Intra Moot Court College Competition on 30th April, 2023 for providing college students platform for improving their advocacy and research skills. Total 57 Students of LL.B. and B.A.LL.B. registered for the competition.

Competition started at 10 am. Each Participant was given 15 min time to present their side. The Moot problem was given to students was related to Section 106 of the Evidence Act. The main issues for argument between the mooters were – whether Non-explanation by accused in section 313 Cr.PC, statement can be used as a link to complete chain of circumstances? And whether Section 106 of the Evidence Act does absolve the prosecution of discharging its primary burden of proving the prosecution case beyond a reasonable doubt.

 Impact Analysis:

This activity helped students to learn the practical implication of the laws in the court room, increase confident level to face the proceeding of court, improvement in the speaking skills of students, how to use authorities in law, understanding the relevancy in giving answers, interpretation of facts and its application, how to maintain good posture during proceedings of the court.

IMIRC College of Law organized the Intra Moot Court College Competition on 14th May, 2023 for providing college students platform for improving their advocacy and research skills. The Moot Court was inaugurated with the welcome and Motivational speech by our Principal Dr Sandeep Kulshrestha, in which he boosted the moral of the students by his words and gave an insight about the benefit of the mooting to the law students. Total 57 Students of LL.B. and B.A.LL.B. registered for the competition.

Competition started at 10:30 am. Each Participant was given 15 min time to present their side. The Moot problem (Civil) was given to students was related to take acquisition of title by adverse possession under Article 65 of Limitation Act.

Impact Analysis:

This activity helped students to learn the practical implication of the laws in the court room, increase confident level to face the proceeding of court, improvement in the speaking skills of students, how to use authorities in law, understanding the relevancy in giving answers, interpretation of facts and its application, how to maintain good posture during proceedings of the court.

Report of Intra College Moot Court Activity-2023

IMIRC College of Law organized the Intra Moot Court Activity on 8th September, 2023 for providing college students a platform for improving their advocacy and research skills. Mooting started at 10 am. Each Participant was given 15 min time to present their side. The Moot problem (Criminal) given to students was related to Section 300, 301, 307, 410, 417 and 418 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 and was revolved around K.M Nanavati Case (1961).

Total 10 teams of 30 student participated and was judged by the faculty members.

Impact Analysis:

Students from the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th Semesters of BA.LLB. participated in the event. The event saw an overwhelming response of 10 teams in total. After participating in the event, the confident students were full of zeal and zest. There was quite a lot of nervous energy and tension around but, nonetheless, the event successfully ended on time and all the participants did a fantastic job at their respective roles as speakers and researchers respectively. The students were able to make the memorials on their own and learnt so much about authorities, the jurisdiction of a court, how to analyse laws and cases and the interpretation of law in particular circumstances.
