ROLE AND RESPONISBILITIES

The Cultural Committee is the backbone of the College’s exciting cultural scene, managing all events—both academic and extracurricular. Here’s what they do:

  • Event Whirlwinds: They meticulously plan and schedule cultural events throughout the year, making sure these exciting dates are officially included in the College calendar.
  • Teaming Up for Success: The Committee leader creates a collaborative space through regular meetings where event details are discussed and tasks are effectively distributed among members.
  • Spreading the Word: To keep everyone on campus in the loop, the Committee actively publicizes upcoming festivals and cultural celebrations through various channels like the college notice board and website.
  • Safeguarding Traditions: They meticulously document all cultural activities, ensuring the College’s rich cultural heritage is preserved for future generations.

PROCEDURE TO ORGANISE EVENTS

The committee shoulders the responsibility for meticulously crafting the event experience. This encompasses:

  • Curating the Program: They define the event’s date, time, and agenda, ensuring a well-structured and engaging program that keeps the audience captivated.
  • Fueling Participation: They leverage various communication channels to disseminate information to staff and students, raising awareness and fostering active participation.
  • Orchestrating the Stage: They secure a suitable venue and meticulously arrange logistics like audio-visual systems, dais, and podiums. This ensures a seamless and professional event experience.
  • Expressing Gratitude: They acknowledge the contributions of those involved. This may include mementos for guests and tokens of recognition, such as gifts or certificates, for participants.

TENURE

The Cultural Committee will function in year-long terms, requiring a two-thirds majority for official meetings to ensure effective decision-making. These meetings will be strategically scheduled, aligning their frequency with the ebb and flow of planning and execution for upcoming cultural events, fostering a nimble and responsive approach to the College’s vibrant cultural life.

PROCEDURE OF MEETING

To ensure smooth operation and effective decision-making, the Cultural Committee will adopt a flexible meeting schedule. Meetings will be convened as needed, strategically timed to coincide with the planning or execution phases of upcoming cultural events. This nimble approach allows the Committee to address pressing matters in real-time.

Prior to each meeting, a formal notification will be circulated to all members. This ensures timely attendance and fosters a well-prepared committee. Following each productive session, the Committee won’t just discuss – they will take action. Concrete steps will be taken to translate the discussed agenda into tangible outcomes. This ensures that their meetings are not just talk shops, but rather springboards for positive change within the College’s cultural landscape.
