CONSTITUTIONAL DAY – Law College Of IMIRC

The IMIRC College of Law celebrated Constitutional Day on 27.11.2023 to observe the significance of this day. The faculty members with their discretion and guidance of the authorities organized a full-fledged program to built the constitutional spirit amongst the students.

Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day) is celebrated every year on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to honour and acknowledge the contribution of Founding Fathers of the Constitution.

Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who became the first law minister of India in the Congress-led Centre, was appointed as the chairman of the constitution drafting committee in 1947 and was given the responsibility of writing the country’s new constitution.

American historian Granville Seward Austin has described the Constitution drafted by Ambedkar as ‘first and foremost a social document’.

The constitution is the amalgamation of the list of borrowed features from Britain, Ireland, United States of America, Canada, Australia, USSR, France, Germany, South Africa and Japan.

Few features of the celebration are as follows: –

✓ The event was organized in the IMIRC Ground. The ground is decorated very beautifully with fresh flowers and balloons.

✓ The students of all semesters prepared their performances with complete dedication and hard work under the guidance of their respected coordinators.

✓ Student of B.A.LLB 9th Semester performed skit on the achievements of India, Students of B.A.LL.B 7 th semester performed on gender equality.

✓ Students of B.A.LL. B 5 th Sem Performed Skit on Vasudhaiva kutumbakam which shows all the culture of India.

✓ Students of B.A.LL. B 3rd Semester performed yoga.

✓ Some of the student sang patriotic song and some students gave speech on constitution.

✓ By the end, respected judges scrutinized all the performances and announced the results.

✓ At the end of the event, we distributed prize to the winners’ students of all the activities performed in the Semester and Prize were Distributed to the student according to their academic results

✓ After the performances, students gathered outside the college to conduct a rally on the awareness of Constitutional Day.

✓ The rally proved to be a great success as the people showed keen interest in the same.
